BREWING BETTER BEERS Here are some simple and easy ways to improve your beer Making a good beer means using the best ingredients available. Along with your choice of a quality beer kit your choice of yeast is also important. The fermentation process is dependant on yeast characteristics and performance. Healthy fermentations and bright beers with good flavours are the key benefits you get when using DCL dried brewing yeasts. Safale S-04 This well known English ale strain exhibits fast fermentation with unique sedimentation properties, helping to improve beer clarity. In the recommended temperature range of 18 C to 24 C, this Safale S-04 will attenuate the wort down to 1008 to 1012 within 2 or 3 days. This is the ideal yeast to produce the best Ales! Saflager S-23 Want to make a genuine Lager or Pilsner beer? Use a genuine Lager yeast! This strain is widely used by Western European commercial breweries and will produce the best of its Lager flavours when fermented at low temperatures 10C to 14C. Yet it will still produce very good beers at room temperature. Dextrose Use dextrose not sugar. Sugar leaves a cidery or wine taste in your beer and this takes away the flavour you are trying to create. Dextrose will give you a pure, clean beer taste.
